Library Data Lab
About
The Data Lab, located in Doe 208A, provides access to a growing collection of electronic data files and analytical software such as MS Excel, SAS, SPSS, Stata, and DataFerret.
The Library Data Lab staff can help you locate, retrieve, and use computer-readable, numeric data. Please schedule an appointment with us to discuss your data needs or visit during regularly scheduled times when staff are present in the lab. Check About.Hours for more information
Access Policy
To access the Lab, you must first sign-in at the main desk in Graduate Services and obtain a login name and password. The Lab is located in the rear of Graduate Services. Access is granted to all UC Berkeley faculty, staff and students. Undergraduate users are encouraged to use Lab, but please respect the access policies of Graduate Services when you visit us.
Data Lab computers are intended for retrieving, downloading, and manipulating datasets. For other types of computing needs, please use one of the many microcomputing facilities on campus.
Please note that the Data Lab functions independently from Graduate Services. Questions and comments about lab software, hardware, or services should be directed to the Coordinator of Data Services rather than the Graduate Services staff.
