Mission Statement: The University of California History Digital Archives project, based at the Center for Studies in Higher Education, UC Berkeley, offers this online resource to provide historical background on the physical planning of the UC campuses and to encourage scholarly research on the subject. The materials available here focus primarily on the founding of the Berkeley campus -- with additional support, we hope to expand the site to include historical documents related to all of the UC campuses. In addition, we aim to create a collaborative research program that will further inquiry and investigation in this area.
